Data Policy

Young explorers' observations are private by default. We do not collect a child's device location; observations inherit the coordinates of the class's field station. Photos, audio, and notes are saved to your class's dataset. Teachers control the sharing level of each observation:

• Private — Only the observer and their class can see it.
• Station (the default) — Visible to everyone within that field station's community — your class plus others contributing to the same station.
• Public — Visible to the entire FieldXplora network — anyone, including the public Field Data Feed.

FieldXplora may use observations marked "public" for generating stories and features for the FieldXplora magazine and for generating aggregated insights, always protecting the child's identity.
